In this unit you will learn the fundamental concepts of ICT. You will look at the theory associated with computers, the capabilities and limitations of ICT, and how ICT is used in the modern world.
This unit requires candidates to use ICT hardware and Spreadsheet modelling software to solve a realistic problem. Spreadsheet modelling software provides various software tools to produce solutions to data handling problems. Candidates may use any suitable software to complete this coursework task.
This unit requires candidates to use ICT hardware and software applications to solve a problem involving three seperate tasks: the production of (i) a document such as a leaflet, newsletter or publicity flyer; (ii) a document containing automated routines, such as mail merged letter, lanel printing or an invoice incorporating calculated fields; (iii) a presentation to an audience, such as a web page or PowerPoint show.

This unit is about the use and impact of Information and Communication Technology. Candidate will be examined on a selection of topics from Network topologies to HCI.

This unit requires candidates to produce a relational database project. It may build upon the content in Section 5, which refers to real life situations. The database project does not have to be based in an actual commercial context, but care must be taken to ensure an appropriately demanding project is undertaken.
